Southwestern Vase
Southwestern Vase







This vase is made of 191 separate pieces of wood, glued up to make the pattern you see here.
Made of Cherry, Walnut, Maple and Padauk, this vase measures:
8 inches tall by 7 inches wide
Veneered checker board is glued up based on CAD drawing
Cut the checker board diagonally and then miter to 15 degrees
Ready for glue up
Mitered pieces are glued
Ring is glued in press
Inside of the ring is then turned
Outside is turned after final glue up
Finish is applied while still on the lathe
After reverse mounting,
the bottom is turned and finished.
